When the life you know starts to feel too small.

Your inner fortress is the world you've built to feel safe. Your ideas, your routines, the person you know how to be. Inside it, things make sense and you feel in control. But you can also become isolated, disconnected from life and from what you really want.

Then something changes. The old answers stop working. Your usual routines no longer satisfy you, and the desire to go out and live becomes stronger than the need to stay safe.

This day is about understanding that transition. How do you move beyond your ego and your comfort zone without losing yourself? How do you face uncertainty, make room for your emotions and find a direction that feels right for you?

We'll explore these questions together, first inside the fortress, then out in the forest. A practical way to understand what's changing in your life and how to move through it with more confidence.

Come back with more energy and a clearer direction.

A day away from your routine, with time to move, breathe and reconnect with what makes you feel alive.

  • Understand your transition. See more clearly what you're leaving behind and what you want to move towards.
  • Find a map for the way forward. Understand how to work with fear, uncertainty and the pull of familiar habits as you move into something new.
  • Reconnect with life. Spend time in nature, explore somewhere new and give yourself room to feel more than the usual routine allows.
  • Make space for your next step. Reflect on what matters to you now and where you want to go from here.

What we'll do together

Villers-la-Ville ruins from a previous outing

Explore the fortress

Visit the ruins of Montaigle, hear its stories and explore what our own inner walls protect us from, and what they keep us from living.

Forest trail

Walk into the forest

Around 4–5 km through woodland and the Flavion valley. Fresh air, flowing water, a shared picnic and time to enjoy the unexpected.

Tarot card and drum

Drum ceremony and tarot

Close the day with a guided drum ceremony and a one-card tarot reading to reflect on your next step.

First movement

Inside the Fortress

We begin at Montaigle Castle. We'll explore the ruins, learn about the place and take time for contemplation.

The fortress represents the ego: the identity, beliefs and habits that help us feel secure, but can also keep us closed off from life. Here we'll explore five dynamics that keep us inside our inner fortress, and how to recognise them in our own lives.

The purpose is to understand what has helped you until now, what is beginning to limit you, and how to move beyond it consciously.

Second movement

Beyond the Walls

We leave the fortress and walk into the forest. Beyond the walls is life itself: movement, emotion, colour, things we haven't planned and experiences we can't control.

We'll share a picnic and walk through the Flavion valley, with time to enjoy the landscape, discover what's around us and walk part of the way in silence. It's a chance to get out of your head and reconnect with the world through your senses.

We'll finish with a guided drum ceremony and a one-card tarot reading. Time to let the day settle, listen to yourself and reflect on your next step beyond the fortress.

Montaigle: a place to reflect

Above the Molignée and Flavion valleys, Montaigle was built to protect its inhabitants. Destroyed in 1554, it was never rebuilt.

A local legend tells of two lovers, Midone and Gilles, whose families were divided by an inherited feud. We'll hear the story during our visit and reflect on the expectations and old loyalties that can still shape our choices today.

The story is a legend, not verified history. But it raises a question worth asking: are you choosing your own life, or repeating a story you've inherited?
