The Path Of Manas

Uniting Heart And Mind

Manas is remembered in Kyrgyz tradition as a warrior, a wise leader and a great unifier. He carried the dream of bringing the tribes of Kyrgyzstan into one direction, and through courage, strength and heart, he became a living symbol of unity.

In this pilgrimage, we connect with the spirit of Manas as a symbol of inner unity: the capacity to bring the different parts of your life back into one clear movement.

Many of us live with a quiet conflict between what we truly want and what we learned to want. Between the heart and the mind. Between the life that calls us and the expectations we absorbed from our environment. Over time, this creates scattered energy, lack of clarity, inner friction and the feeling that we are using part of our own force against ourselves.

The path of Manas is the movement from that inner conflict into meaningful direction. From desires that are not truly ours to a purpose that comes from the soul. From scattered energy to a life where heart, mind, body and direction can walk together.

The work is to unite what is already alive in you, and let go of what is not yours: the noise you inherited, the expectations you absorbed, and the desires that came from outside your center.

Umay And Tengri

The Forces Of Direction And Vitality

On this journey, we work with two powerful symbols from Kyrgyz and Central Asian spiritual tradition. They represent two forces we need when we want to bring our life into one direction.

Eagle symbol representing Tengri and sacred direction

Tengri

Tengri is the sky: higher truth, sacred direction, the wide vision of what your life is really here to serve. Tengri represents the point above fear, the place of clarity, the inner north that reminds you where you want to go and what is most meaningful to you.

Green valley and living nature representing Umay

Umay

Umay is the force of life: body, nature, vitality, resilience, psychological strength and the fire that helps new life grow. Umay reminds us that our energy is not something to repress or fight against. It is something to listen to, strengthen and consciously direct.

Tengri shows the direction. Umay gives the strength to walk toward it.

The Nomadic Way

The Masculine Road And The Feminine Yurt

In nomadic life, there is always a balance between two poles: the masculine movement of the road and the feminine warmth of the yurt. In this retreat, you will experience both literally and symbolically.

Horseback path through forest as the road aspect of the nomadic way

Masculine Pole

The Road: Movement, Effort And Direction

The road is movement, effort, direction, practice, decision and discipline. It is the part of the journey where we cross distance, carry what matters and go a little beyond the limits we normally keep around ourselves. In Kyrgyzstan, this will be long drives, hikes, horseback experiences, pilgrimages, teachings, practices and ceremonies.

Yurt doorway and local host as the feminine pole of the nomadic way

Feminine Pole

The Yurt: Rest, Warmth And Belonging

The yurt is rest, warmth, food, relationship, intimacy, community, beauty, celebration and the simple joy of coming back together. In this journey, it will be shared meals, fire, conversations, laughter, local people, free time, contemplation, meditation, beautiful views and the feeling of being held by the group.

Tunduk opening inside a yurt

The center

The Tunduk: The Opening To The Sky

We are not choosing between effort and enjoyment. We are bringing both into the same journey. You will move, and you will rest. You will practice, and you will celebrate. You will cross wild places, and you will return to the circle.

In the center of the yurt is the tunduk, the round opening to the sky: a simple image for learning to move through life without losing your center.

Day by day

The Road Where Everything Becomes Real

Now the pilgrimage becomes a real path. For 15 days, we travel through Bishkek, Osh, Arslanbob, Sary Chelek, Kyrgyz Ata and back again. The itinerary is designed as a balance between movement and rest, adventure and integration, local culture and inner practice. Some details may still adapt to weather, group rhythm, ranger permissions and local conditions, but this is the path we are preparing.

Bishkek city square in Kyrgyzstan

Day 1

Arrival In Bishkek

Your international flight arrives in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. We pick you up at the airport and take you to the hotel in the center of the city, where you can rest, settle in and begin to feel the first atmosphere of the journey.

Depending on your arrival time, you will have free time to rest, walk around the area, exchange money, buy anything you may still need and adapt slowly to the place. In the evening, we will have our first welcome dinner together as a group. Nothing intense yet. Just arriving, meeting each other and crossing the first threshold of the pilgrimage.

Osh city and the beginning of the southern journey

Day 2

Flight To Osh: Crossing Into The South

After breakfast at the hotel, we take the morning internal flight to Osh, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia and the beginning of the deeper part of our journey. From this moment, the retreat starts to feel more real: we are leaving the capital and crossing into the south.

Our local guide and driver meet us in Osh and take us to the hotel. The rest of the day is intentionally spacious: time to walk, contemplate, rest and prepare for the adventure ahead. Osh gives us the first contact with the old Silk Road atmosphere, the south of Kyrgyzstan and the spiritual gate of the retreat.

Sulayman Too sacred mountain above Osh, Kyrgyzstan

Day 3

Osh Bazaar And Sulayman Too

This is our full day in Osh. We visit two important places: the bazaar and Sulayman Too. The bazaar is one of the oldest and most alive markets in the region, a place of movement, trade, color, food, voices and local life.

Then we visit Sulayman Too, the sacred mountain of Osh, one of the most important spiritual places in Central Asia and one of the most famous places of power in Kyrgyzstan. This is our portal into the retreat. From the mountain, we will have beautiful views over the city and a moment of contemplation, connection and intention. We will hold a simple meditation in this sacred place to place your personal intention for the pilgrimage.

The day will also include free time to walk, contemplate, rest, shop if needed and feel the city without rushing.

Osh To Arslanbob Via Uzgen

Day 4

Osh To Arslanbob Via Uzgen

We leave Osh by road and travel toward Arslanbob, passing through the historic area of Uzgen on the way. The route is around 177-190 km depending on the exact road and stops, and it gives us our first real taste of the road aspect of the retreat.

During the journey, we begin to enter a more rural rhythm. We arrive in Arslanbob, a village known for its ancient walnut forests and mountain setting, and settle into local family-style accommodation. There will be time to rest, walk, arrive in the village and have dinner.

In the evening, we will have a preparation circle for the next days in Arslanbob. Our guides will explain the horse experience, the forest, the Holy Rock pilgrimage and the practical rhythm of the hikes ahead.

Horse riding in a mountain valley in Kyrgyzstan

Day 5

Horses And Walnut Forests Of Arslanbob

This day brings us into the mythical walnut forests of Arslanbob. We take local horses with their horsemen and receive simple safety instructions before starting. The ride is designed to be calm, slow and accessible, with local support around us. If someone does not want to ride, there will be alternatives such as walking with the group or using local transport where possible.

The horse experience will last around three hours, moving gently through the forest. The exact distance depends on the route chosen by the guides, but the intention is not speed or performance. It is a contemplative ride: connecting with the animal, the land, the forest and the presence of the body.

After the horse experience, we will have a moment of contemplation and drum meditation inside the walnut forest. This is a day to connect with vitality, trust, instinct and the living force of nature.

Holy Rock Pilgrimage Begins

Day 6

Holy Rock Pilgrimage Begins

We begin the two-day pilgrimage to the Holy Rock of Arslanbob, one of the most powerful moments of the retreat. This is a real mountain pilgrimage toward a sacred place connected with silence, humility and prayer. The route starts around 1,600 m and rises toward the Holy Rock area, around 2,700-2,800 m. The walking distance and exact route will be confirmed by the local guides, but this is a strong day and we will treat it with respect.

We walk upward with the support of the local team. Camping equipment, food and logistics are supported so the group can focus on the pilgrimage itself. After visiting the Holy Rock area, we descend to a lower camping place, around 2,000 m, where there is better access to water and a safer rhythm for the night.

That evening, we camp under the stars. We will have dinner in nature and a fire ceremony with drum to integrate the experience and recognize what the Holy Rock has shown or given to each person. This night is meant to be simple, wild and unforgettable.

Holy Rock, Descent And Return

Day 7

Holy Rock, Descent And Return

We wake up in the mountains after the night of camping. The morning begins slowly, with breathwork, contemplation, gentle body release and a simple practice to integrate the previous day. We take time for breakfast, conversation and quiet preparation before packing the camp and beginning the descent.

This day is for descent and integration. We return to Arslanbob and keep the afternoon softer after the effort of the Holy Rock pilgrimage. There will be free time to rest, shower, walk through the village, buy anything needed, journal or simply allow the body to recover. The evening is for dinner and calm integration.

Transfer To Sary Chelek / Arkit

Day 8

Transfer To Sary Chelek / Arkit

We leave Arslanbob and travel toward the Sary Chelek region, staying near Arkit, the gateway village to the reserve. This is an important road day, around 260 km according to comparable route references, with stops for food, rest and the changing landscapes of southern Kyrgyzstan.

The focus is practical and energetic: we move, arrive, prepare and rest. We settle into the guesthouse in Arkit, have dinner and prepare for the Sary Chelek pilgrimage. This night is about gathering energy before entering the national reserve.

Sary Chelek Trek: Lakes, Forest And Silence

Day 9

Sary Chelek Trek: Lakes, Forest And Silence

After breakfast, we enter Sary Chelek National Reserve and begin a three-day pilgrimage through mountains, lakes, forests and hills. This part of the journey brings us deeply into the energy of Umay: nature, vitality, effort, body and the wild force that helps life grow.

We will walk with the support of a local team. Camping gear, food and logistics will be supported, so participants only need to carry a personal day backpack with what is needed for the day. We walk, pause, practice and enter the quieter rhythm of the reserve.

At night, we camp in a permitted area of the national park. We will share dinner, sit by fire where allowed, and hold an evening fire ceremony for integration, emotional release and group sharing. This is a night under the stars, surrounded by nature, with time for silence and contemplation.

Sary Chelek Trek: Integration In The Wild

Day 10

Sary Chelek Trek: Integration In The Wild

We wake up in the reserve and begin the morning with a simple movement and stretching practice in nature. After breakfast, we pack the camp and start the second full day of the Sary Chelek pilgrimage.

This day is expected to include around 10-12 km of walking, depending on the exact route confirmed with the ranger and local guides. We move through mountain terrain, forest and lake landscapes, with pauses for practice, rest and contemplation. The lakes are the heart of the day.

If permission and safety conditions allow, we will include a water practice in or near the lake. During these hiking days, we will also introduce practices of empowerment, free expression, body awareness, emotional expression and voice, always adapted to the rhythm of the group and the landscape.

We spend a second night camping in the national park, closer to the return route. In the evening, we gather again for dinner and a second fire ceremony to integrate the day.

Return To Arkit And Rest

Day 11

Return To Arkit And Rest

We wake up in nature and begin the morning with stretching, grounding and a simple connection practice. After breakfast, we complete the final section of the Sary Chelek route and return toward Arkit. The walk back is expected to be shorter, around 3-4 km, depending on the final camp location.

We arrive back at the guesthouse for lunch or an early dinner, depending on the timing of the day. The rest of the day is for a well-deserved reset: shower, rest, free time, walking around the village, small purchases if needed and space to let the Sary Chelek experience settle.

Transfer To Kyrgyz Ata

Day 12

Transfer To Kyrgyz Ata

We leave Arkit and begin the transfer toward Kyrgyz Ata National Park, entering the final stage of the retreat. This is another road day, moving from the world of lakes and camping toward the yurt camp, mountain air and the closing part of the pilgrimage.

When we arrive, we are received by the local hosts and enter the yurt space. After several days of walking, camping and movement, this arrival matters. The yurt brings the feminine pole of the nomadic journey: community, rest, relationship, food, warmth and the feeling of being gathered again.

That evening, we will hold a ceremony inside or around the yurt, dedicated to the feminine aspect of the journey: connection, community, tribe, receptivity and belonging. Under the tunduk, the opening of the yurt to the sky, we begin to bring the whole pilgrimage back to the center.

Kyrgyz Ata: Yurt Camp, Walk And Commitment

Day 13

Kyrgyz Ata: Yurt Camp, Walk And Commitment

This day is based around Kyrgyz Ata and the yurt camp. We plan a local walk of around two to three hours, arranged with the yurt camp or a local guide, through the mountain and juniper landscape of the area.

The inner theme is return: what do I bring back from this journey, and what am I willing to embody when I return home? There will be time for practice, contemplation, rest, group connection and a final integration process. This is the day where the yurt, the circle and the tunduk become very real.

A local celebration in Kyrgyzstan on the road back to Bishkek

Day 14

Kyrgyz Ata To Osh, Flight To Bishkek

We leave Kyrgyz Ata and transfer back toward Osh airport for the internal flight to Bishkek. This is a transition day: from yurt and mountain back toward the capital, from the deep road back toward the world we came from.

After arriving in Bishkek, we check into the hotel and have the final evening of the retreat. Depending on flight schedules and group energy, this can include a closing dinner, final sharing, free time or a quiet night before international departures.

Departure From Bishkek

Day 15

Departure From Bishkek

The retreat ends in Bishkek. Participants depart according to their international flight times. Depending on schedules, there may be time for breakfast, a final walk, packing or last practical errands before leaving.

The outer journey ends here. The real integration begins when you return home: with your body more awake, your heart and mind closer together, and a clearer sense of what deserves your energy now.

Your stay

Hotels, Guesthouses, Tents And Yurts

This is a real journey through Kyrgyzstan, so the accommodation changes with the landscape: city hotels, local guesthouses, camping sections and yurts.

City comfort

City Hotels

In Bishkek and Osh, we stay in comfortable city hotels with the basic services you need to rest properly before and after the more remote parts of the retreat.

Local rhythm

Guesthouses

In Arslanbob and Arkit / Sary Chelek, we stay in local guesthouses or family-run accommodation: simpler, warmer and closer to village life.

Wild nights

Camping

During the camping sections, we expect shared tents, ideally for two people. Final details depend on group size and available local equipment.

Nomadic life

Yurts

In Kyrgyz Ata, we stay in yurts. These are shared spaces, usually around 2-4 people when possible, depending on the final setup.

The standard package is based on shared accommodation. In city hotels we expect shared twin rooms. In guesthouses, we aim for shared twin rooms where possible. During camping, we expect shared tents, ideally for two people. In yurts, the layout is shared and depends on final availability.

We always do our best to place participants with someone of the same sex in shared accommodation, but this cannot be guaranteed in every place because this is a remote itinerary with local guesthouses, tents and yurts. If room privacy is very important for you, please tell us before reserving.

Shared yurt interior and local hospitality

Food and meals

Local Food, Shared Meals And Simple Travel Rhythm

Food is part of the journey. In the city, meals are more flexible. In the villages, guesthouses, camping sections and yurt camp, meals become part of the shared experience.

Hotel breakfasts in Bishkek and Osh are included when provided by the hotel. Restaurant meals in Bishkek and Osh are not included in the retreat price; participants pay those directly. This gives the group flexibility in the cities.

From Arslanbob onward, most meals are expected to be included as part of the local guesthouse, trekking, camping and yurt camp arrangements. Some meals on travel days may remain flexible depending on the route, timing and local options.

If you have dietary restrictions, please tell us before booking. We will do our best to support you, but this is a remote route and options may be more limited than in Western Europe.

We are Pablo and Monika, the initiators of Inner Spark and the people who will walk this road beside you. We create spaces for spiritual adventure: places of discovery, effort, challenge and renewal, held with warmth, honesty and real care.

Our work draws from yoga, shamanic traditions and Buddhist meditation. It has also been shaped by our initiation with our North Indian teacher, Alexander. But for us, the living application always matters more than theory: what becomes true through your own body, heart and experience.

For the past six years, we have dedicated ourselves to creating sacred journeys for people who want to meet life more fully. In the unknown, you will not be left to figure it out alone. We bring direction, practices, clear boundaries and attention to the small human moments that allow a group to become a safe and authentic field.

In Kyrgyzstan, both we and the group will support you through the difficult and beautiful parts of the journey. There is a horizontal connection between everyone, and a shared purpose that carries us forward. Very special bonds are created when people travel, practice, laugh, rest and meet their limits together.
